Seymour Likely

The invention of three young artists from the Netherlands. Seymour Likely is supposedly an American artist whose work spans many disciplines.

His minimal floor piece Never Marry a Railroad Worker, is a double hit at Carl Andre. Multiple copies of a book bearing this title but full of blank pages are laid out on the ground like an Andre floor piece. Andre, of course, spent some years working on the railroads and later became involved in a scandal involving the death of his wife.

This anarchic trio have also opened a bar in the centre of Amsterdam called The Seymour Likely Lounge, they sponsor a local basketball team called The Canadians, and they have produced numerous film posters for non-existent films starring themselves.
